PYLI VILLAGE EXPERIENCE

Service Description

Our tour begins at the ancient Tomb of Harmylos, a legendary Hellenistic monument, before heading into the heart of Pyli Village. Here, we will immerse ourselves in local culture by visiting the Pyliotiko Spiti, a preserved traditional peasant house that captures island life from a century ago, and admiring the lovely Church of Saint Nicholas in the main square. A highlight is the historic Pyli Spring, where you can drink fresh, cold mountain water flowing from six lion-headed spouts dating back to 1592. ​Next, we venture to the medieval ruins of Palio Pyli—the "Mystras of the Dodecanese." This portion involves a two-stage hike: first, a mild incline walk leads us to the atmospheric ruins of the Old Village. From there, a second, more intense ascent takes us to the Castle top, rewarding the effort with breathtaking panoramic views. After descending, we finish with a scenic drive home along the Tigkaki and Lambi coastlines.
